Durherm Portable Personal Folding Home Steam Sauna
Durherm has 2 saunas that made our list. (See the Durherm Extra Large Negative Ion FIR Infrared Portable Personal Sauna) This one, the Durherm Personal Portable Folding Home Steam Sauna weighs just 11 pounds and is the lightest of all the sauna we’ve reviewed. It is a true steam sauna and comes with an 800 watt steam generator, but it is comparatively small at 43” (h) x 33” (w) x 28″ (d).
The Durherm Portable Personal Folding Steam Sauna is a very popular model because of its low price, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have flaws. There is no room to put your legs up and it can feel rather cramped inside. While it advertises that it heats up in 10 minutes, it often takes as long as 20 minutes to reach a nice steamy 120 degrees Fahrenheit. It does keep its heat well and the tank produces enough steam to last for about an hour. Even so, sauna use is not recommended to exceed 10-15 per session.
The construction of this model is serious problem for us. It is flimsy, even for a portable sauna, and the location of the steam is not ideal and has even caused some people to burn themselves if they are not careful. It is easy to assemble, but we found that taking it down is not as simple as putting it up. It is watertight and will not leak on your floor or carpet. It doesn’t come with a chair which makes it more expensive than other models since you will have to buy a chair that will not warp or tear the floor of the sauna.
The Durherm Portable Personal Folding Home Steam Sauna comes with 2 soft terry cloth washable neck collars, but nothing soft to pillow you wrists if you have your hands outside the sauna. It has a 1 year warranty which is standard for portable personal saunas.
Overall, the Durherm Portable Personal Folding Steam Sauna earned only 3 out of a possible 5 stars.
