Installing Your Kit
Many people would love a sauna in their home but just can’t afford the high price quoted to them by a contractor. Two great lower cost alternatives are kits and pre-built saunas. Installing either one of these is a relatively simple task that almost anyone with a few basic tools will be able to do with no problems. Pre-built saunas will be easier to install than the kit, but may also be more expensive.
A kit will include all of the pieces you need to build your sauna which have been pre cut for easy assembly. You will need tools in order to build it. A pre built sauna will come in a few large pieces which simply need to be put together. The cost of a pre built sauna will be higher as much of the assembly has been completed for you. You need to decide which is more valuable, the extra money or the time saved in assembly.
In order to build it you will need to be comfortable using some basic tools. All the pieces come in the box and have been pre cut for easy assembly. Your kit will come with detailed instructions which should be easy to follow. One main advantage of this is that it can be placed inside an existing room in your home such as a large closet or small bathroom. Pre built saunas are freestanding only.
Home diy kits come in a wide selection of shapes and sizes and can even be custom built to your exact specifications. You will need to make sure you have the electrical work completed by a professional prior to installing your kit. If you are converting a small room into a sauna you will need to insulate the wall framework and install a good vapor barrier to prevent wood rot.
